About the Program
The Heating and Air Conditioning program of study is a two-year program comprised of both classroom instruction and laboratory experiments with students receiving training in welding, the laws of refrigeration, the basic refrigeration cycle, the purpose and operation of compressors, condensers, evaporators, metering devices, and oil coolers. The student learns how to troubleshoot, repair, and install all types of domestic and commercial refrigeration and heating systems. Also, he/she learns to estimate heating and cooling loads, to give job estimates, to care for tools and equipment, and to set up a service shop and safety.
An Associate of Applied Science degree or Certificate can be obtained after successful completion of two years. Students will also be subject to participate in the NCCER Certification during the progression of the program.

Admission Requirements
Priority given to applicants with ACT composite of 14 or an equivalent ACCUPLACER score. All appli-cants must present documents of their scores.
Job Opportunities
Maintenance or service technician. Cleans, repairs, or installs air conditioning and heating units, including coils, condensation pans, drain lines, cooling towers.
